About The Event
Immigrant parents remain eternally in survival mode. For first generation children, that means being an artist can unleash a string of fears for your future. While well-meaning, honing your craft is intimidating enough without the added pressure.
The Muslim Otherhood and Fail Better NYC bring you a new kind of open mic. Geared toward first-generation artists of all kinds (musicians, poets, stand-ups, storytellers) this workshop-ish show is a low-stakes space where unfinished work is encouraged and failure is destigmatized.
Give us your off-color jokes, your tired poets, your huddled masses and we'll give you a stage and support. Our audience is ready to listen and offer support via optional feedback discussions moderated by Christopher Moncayo-Torres.
We are here to listen to you.
Hey, no stage is scarier than your mom.
DM The Muslim Otherhood to sign up. First come, first serve.
